Tax on money earned from Paid Surveys
Question:
Hi Simon,
I am just wondering on how income from online surveys is taxed? Is it something that needs to be declared on your tax return and do the companies send you a Group Certificate at the end of the year etc? Do the companies pay the tax out or will I get a bill at tax time?
Regards,
Amanda
Answer:
Hi Amanda,
Thanks for your email.
The money that you earn from doing online surveys is taxable income and will need to be entered into you next return.
The only exception to this would be the companies that donate the money you earn to charities. I believe that if the earnings are entered into prize draws they are also exempt from tax, unless you win. I hope this answers your questions.
Could I ask you a favour? How did you hear about doing online surveys recently? As I have seen quite an increase in traffic in the last couple of days?
Did you just find me through a search engine or were you linked from somewhere? If so where did you get linked from? Any information you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Simon Lissa
